BYU, Texas Tech Enter the Top 10

For the first time this season, the BYU Cougars and the Texas Tech Red Raiders are both in the top 10.

No. 8 BYU (8-0) remains undefeated, while No. 10 Texas Tech has won two consecutive games since losing to Arizona State.

Now, the Cougars and Red Raiders square off on Saturday in a game with massive implications on the Big 12 and College Football Playoff. The winner gains the inside track for the Big 12 title game.

Because BYU is undefeated, the Cougars have a greater margin of error than the one-loss Texas Tech.

College GameDay will be in Lubbock for the massive showdown this weekend.

Kickoff between BYU and Texas Tech is set for 12 p.m. ET on Nov. 8.

Notre Dame is Back in the Top 10

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are back in the top 10 for the first time since Week 3.

No. 10 Notre Dame struggled in Week 10 on their way to a 25-10 win against Boston College.

Think of how far Notre Dame has come. The Irish were written off by most after losing their first two games of the year to Miami and Texas A&M. Now, Notre Dame has won six straight and finds itself back in the College Football Playoff conversation.

Notre Dame essentially controls its own destiny now. If the Irish win their final four games, they are going to make the CFP.

Notre Dame plays Navy on Nov. 8.

Oklahoma and Texas Pick Up Huge Wins

After the Red River Rivalry, Oklahoma and Texas seemed to be heading in separate directions.

Now, both teams are on the outside looking in when it comes to the top 10.

No. 18 Oklahoma jumped seven spots to No. 11 after its 33-27 victory over No. 14 Tennessee. Meanwhile, No. 20 Texas also jumped seven spots to No. 13 with the Longhorns’ win over No. 14 Vanderbilt.

This week marks the first College Football Playoff Rankings Show. It will be interesting to see where the committee has the Sooners and the Longhorns.
