John Cena at the 2015 edition of WWE SummerSlam

John Cena is arguably the best of all time in WWE.

He definitely belongs on the Mount Rushmore of wrestling.

Cena holds the record for most world championship title reigns (17).

His accomplishments include 14 WWE Championships, three World Heavyweight Championships, five United States Championships, four tag team Championships, a two-time Royal Rumble winner, a one-time Money In The Bank winner, and now Cena won the Intercontinental Championship for the first time to be a grand slam champion.

In his hometown of Boston, Massachusetts, John Cena defeated Dominik Mysterio to become the new IC champion and a grand slam champion.

John Cena Wins Intercontinental Championship

Cena won every title in WWE, but one title has evaded him until the November 10th episode of Raw.

Cena came out to a ruckus Boston crowd as he returned home for one last WWE appearance.

He would cut a promo about the “Last Time Is Now” tournament that features 16 WWE superstars from all three brands to compete for a chance to face Cena in his last match. This final Cena match will take place in Washington, D.C. on Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.

Cena was interrupted by Dominik Mysterio. The two would cut a promo. Then, Triple H announced that it would be John Cena vs. Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship as the first match of Raw.

Dominik hit Cena with the “619” move, then climbed to the top rope for a frog splash. Mysterio connected, but was caught by Cena. Then, Cena picked Dominik up over his shoulders and gave him the “Attitude Adjustment”. Cena would cover Dominik for the pinfall and win the match.

He became the new Intercontinental Champion and Grand Slam Champion.

    Last Time Is Now Tournament

The “Last Time Is Now” tournament will take place on Raw and SmackDown, with the winner of the tournament facing Cena in his last match.

This final Cena match will take place in Washington, D.C. on Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.

With Cena becoming the new Intercontinental Champion, his final match will likely be for the IC title as well.

On the November 10th episode of Raw, Rusev defeated Damian Priest, and Sheamus defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to move on in the “Last Time Is Now” tournament.

Not all the matches for the tournament have been confirmed. Here is what is known:

    • Rusev defeated Damian Priest
    • Sheamus defeated Shinsuke Nakamura
    • The Miz vs Jey Uso (TBD)
    • LA Knight vs TBD
    • Je’Von Evans vs Gunther (Raw, November 17)
    • Solo Sikoa vs a surprise entrant (Raw, November 17)
    • TBD vs TBD
    • TBD vs TBD
    • LA Knight and Solo Sikoa’s opponent has not been named yet. Two matches remain unknown as well.

Some guesses for Solo’s opponent are Sami Zayn, Randy Orton, or Joe Hendry. Many thought it would be Gunther, as he has been out of action, but Gunther has been announced to battle Je’Von Evans.

Based on reports, it is expected that Gunther will win the tournament to be Cena’s final opponent.

Things can change, but the current thought is that Gunther will win the tournament.

      John Cena’s Survivor Series Plans

John Cena will be at Survivor Series War Games.

The November 10th episode of Raw gave us a preview of the Men’s Wargames. It appears one team will have CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and Jey Uso, while the other team will have Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Logan Paul.

Two WWE superstars need to be named for each team. Here is a prediction of the teams for the Men’s Survivor Series Wargames:

      • Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Austin Theory, and Brock Lesnar
      • CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Roman Reigns, and John Cena

This is a stacked match. Reigns is widely expected to join with Punk, Rhodes, and Uso. It is also expected now, with Jacob Fatu out of action, that Cena will join this team.

Seth Rollins’ injury changed the WWE landscape. He would have been with Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. With Rollins out, Austin Theory and Brock Lesnar are expected to join Breakker, Reed, and Paul.

This makes for a stacked Men’s Survivor Series Wargames match.

Survivor Series Wargames prediction: the team of Punk, Rhodes, Uso, Reigns, and Cena will win. This is too stacked a team to lose.
