Massive Crowd Shows Up At Pitt For ESPN College GameDay And Pat McAfee Homecoming

The University of Pittsburgh has not hosted a Saturday college football pregame program in 20 years, but that changed on November 15, 2025 as ESPN College GameDay set up shop with native Yinzer Pat McAfee coming home.

McAfee hails from Plum, PA which is 13 miles outside the Steel City. He is excited to be back in his old stomping ground and spent a lot of time talking about the extensive and successful Pittsburgh sports history in the NFL, MLB, and NHL.

These same fans camped out, got rained on, and were still wet when the show went on the air.

Pitt has a big game today against Notre Dame, and Panther Nation is enjoying the Keystone State and nationwide college football attention normally reserved for the Penn State Nittany Lions who hosted a GameDay earlier in the season.

ESPN And YouTube Strike A Deal Just In Time

Not only will the Pitt fans enjoy ESPN College GameDay, but YouTube subscribers will also as the weeks long stalemate between ESPN and YouTube ended yesterday.
