It was not exactly breaking news that Roger Federer was selected for the International Tennis Hall of Fame Class of 2026 in his first year of eligibilty. With 20 Grand Slams and the effortless looking game, no one was surprised at his selection.
As he did throughout his playing career, Federer planned the receipt of the call to perfection.
Where Roger Federer Got The Hall Of Fame Call
Federer was working with the kids at the Swiss Tennis Federation when the Hall of Fame called. He credited the organization for helping him to develop in the early stages of his career.

The star-studded Zoom call included Kim Clijsters, Boris Becker, Stefan Edberg, Martina Hingis, and many more former players. Federer said: “Throughout my career, I’ve always valued the history of tennis and the example set by those who came before me. It was very special to receive the news at Swiss Tennis, surrounded by the next generation of players — the place where my own journey first began.
“To be recognized in this way by the sport and by my peers is deeply humbling. I look forward to visiting Newport next August to celebrate this special moment with the tennis community.”
Federer will be inducted in the August 27-29 ceremonies with former player and broadcaster Mary Carillo in the contributor category.
Who Presents Federer
Serena Williams was the blockbuster presenter for Maria Sharapova in her 2025 induction. The longtime rivals gave each other props and respect in what was not always a happy and cordial on-court relationship.
There are plenty of possibilities including Federer’s wife Mirka, but we would be remiss if we were not secretly hoping for a Rafael Nadal presentation of Federer.
