New York Yankees
An appealing factor for the Yankees is Suarez’s durability and consistency. He’s been one of baseball’s most dependable everyday players, rarely missing time and consistently logging full seasons. That reliability would be a major upgrade for a Yankees team that has dealt with injuries and inconsistent production at third base in recent years.
Adding a veteran who can hit 30+ (or even 40+) home runs while handling a corner infield spot gives New York depth, balance, and a legitimate run-producing threat. While the Yankees already have a solid left side of the infield, Suarez would be an upgrade that could help put them over the top in 2026.
Suarez fits what the Yankees often target in the middle tier of MLB free agency. He is a player who can produce like a starter but won’t require the years or dollars of a premium free agent.
Detroit Tigers
Detroit’s offense showed flashes in 2025, but still lacks consistent thump, especially from the infield corners. Suarez, even at this stage of his career, remains a legitimate home run threat, and would fill a massive need positionally.
The Tigers don’t have a long-term answer at third base, and Suarez offers a way to fill that hole. His likely short-term contract lines up well with the team’s timeline, giving young infielders room to mature while allowing the club to stay competitive in the near term. With the AL Central still wide open most years, incremental improvements like adding Suárez can make a meaningful difference in the standings.

Seattle Mariners

The Mariners are certainly looking to capitalize on their contention window, and could be active players on the free agent market. But if they want to keep their successful 2025 team intact, re-signing their talent should be priority number one. They already gave Josh Naylor a long-term deal, and Suarez could be next.
