Stephen Curry is a sneaker “free agent” after ending his time with Under Armour. There has been circulating speculation about which shoe company he’ll wind up signing with, and he may have dropped a hint on Monday night while paying respect to one of the best women’s player in the WNBA.
Stephen Curry Wears Nikes For First Time In Over 12 Years
Since the split, Curry has been wearing various different shoes during games. On Monday, he wore Nikes. More specifically, he wore the “IONSCREW” Sabrina 3s. They are the signature shoe of Sabrina Ionescu, the New York Liberty guard and four-time WNBA All-Star.
In digging deeper, you can find that Curry was pulling out the creativity all evening long. When he arrived at the Delta Center in downtown Salt Lake City, he was wearing the ‘Flu Game’ Jordan 12s, which happened in that building. He then warmed up in the ‘Last Shot’ Jordan 14s, which also took place in the Delta Center, and capped it off by rocking the Sabrina 3s in-game.
"When she was coming out of school, I was trying to get her to Curry Brand. It's hard to get an Oregon Duck to leave Nike."

It was the first time that Curry has worn Nikes in a game in over 12 years. Ionescu was in attendance to watch Stephen Curry and his Warriors defeat the Jazz 134-117.
On November 13, 2025, Under Armour and Curry announced that they are parting ways. Curry’s sub‐brand Curry Brand will become independent from Under Armour, and will follow him to wherever his next stop may be. Under Armour will still launch the “final” Curry shoe, the Curry 13, in February 2026. One major factor behind the split: Curry and his camp reportedly felt Under Armour had under-invested in his line, with weak sales relative to expectations.
Curry’s sneaker saga is no longer just about performance on the floor. Instead, it’s a strategic business move, cultural moment, and potentially a pivot in the basketball-sneaker world. His wearing of Ionescu’s Nike shoes is part of the messaging, and could be a sign of things to come.
