Bucks Trade Rumors: Milwaukee Showing ‘Level of Interest’ in Kings’ Zach LaVine

Amid a 5-13 start to the 2025-26 season, the Kings are in line to be sellers at the trade deadline. Unless the team turns it around, NBA analysts assume Sacramento will trade veteran players.

That includes Domantas Sabonis, Zach LaVine, and DeMar DeRozan. NBA insider Michael Scotto reported that the market for LaVine and DeRozan is quiet at the moment. However, one team is showing “a level of interest” in Zach LaVine. Scotto said the Milwaukee Bucks have done “due diligence” on potentially acquiring the all-star SG.

Will the Milwaukee Bucks trade with the Kings for Zach LaVine?

Two-time all-star Zach LaVine is in his second season with the Kings. He was traded from Chicago to Sacramento at the 2024-25 deadline. LaVine rejoined his former Bulls teammate DeMar DeRozan. Less than a year later, LaVine and DeRozan are reportedly available for trade. Zach LaVine’s statistical numbers have taken a dip in 2025-26. However, he is still averaging 20+ points per game. Something he’s done in seven of his last eight seasons.

NBA insider Michael Scotto said the Kings have made Zach LaVine and other veteran players on the roster available for trade. With that, the Bucks have reportedly shown “a level of interest” in SG Zach LaVine. However, the Bucks have an 8-10 record and are waiting for Giannis Antetokounmpo to return from a low-grade adductor strain. If the Bucks start to stack wins when Antetokounmpo returns, their interest in LaVine could become serious.

Michael Scotto noted that Milwaukee’s Kyle Kuzma has connections with the Kings’ front office. Vivek Ranadive is Sacramento’s Chairperson. Together, Kyle Kuzma and Vivek Ranadive are both owners of Major League Volleyball. Additionally, Kuzma has been linked to the Kings in the past via trade rumors. It would not be a shock to see the Bucks move Kuzma in a trade for Zach LaVine if the time came.

It’s worth noting that Zach LaVine is still in the middle of a five-year, $215 million deal. He previously signed that contract with the Bulls before he was traded to the Kings. LaVine is on the books for $47.5 million in 2025-26 and has a $48.97 million player option in 2026-27. That would be a hefty contract for Milwaukee to add. If the Kings continue to struggle, they’ll be more inclined to trade Zach LaVine away.
