Cameron Boozer — Forward, Duke (18.9 years old)
Cameron Boozer Scouting Report & NBA Comparison
- Offensive role: Playmaking Hub/Off-Ball Scorer/Pick-And-Popper
- Defensive role: Help Defender/Glass Cleaner
Boozer’s historical dominance as one of the youngest players in the class makes him a challenging player to compare to, but offense-first star bigs like Kevin Love and Karl-Anthony Towns come to mind. Vertical athleticism, size or other limiters might keep Boozer below elite defensive impact, but he’s talented enough offensively to moonlight as a centerpiece or, more likely, boost an elite team’s ceiling with his all-time off-ball offense.
NBA Comparison: Kevin Love, Karl-Anthony Towns
Strengths
- Special processor with and without the ball, exceptional connective passer off-ball and help-reading playmaker on ball, especially from the post
- Dominant interior scorer loaded with functional strength, post moves, ambidextrous touch and enough quickness to burn most big men
- Exceptional offensive and defensive rebounder, especially cleaning up his own misses for tip-ins with an incredibly high motor
- Consistently improving his 3-point shooting, enough volume, shot versatility and touch to project a threatening shooter
- High feel defender who understands angles and positioning, great awareness rotating to cover the rim
- Accurate, active hands create events and force stops on defense
- One of the most decorated high school players of all time as one of the youngest players in his high school and draft classes
Weaknesses
- Limited vertical athleticism curtails first-chance finishing and rim protection impact, often struggles to alter and deter shots defending the hoop
- Fluid enough to defend some perimeter players but lacks footspeed and flexibility to reliably guard smaller players
- Struggles as an off-dribble creator when he can’t lean on strength/footwork, limited flexibility, burst and explosiveness
2026 NBA Draft Projection: Round 1, Pick 3
Like his other top-tier counterparts, Boozer continues to cement himself as a number-one pick worthy prospect. Lacking top-tier explosiveness, creation and mobility may somewhat limit his primary offensive and defensive ceiling, but Boozer is far too skilled, smart and productive to fade too far. At some point, Boozer’s dominance at every level coupled with his age and on-court package overcome those issues.
