Four key NHL injuries at end of November

As we end the month of November, there are four key injuries to report. Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal of Brno, Czech Republic is out two to three weeks with an upper body injury, Edmonton Oilers centre Jack Roslovic of Columbus, Ohio, is out multiple weeks with a lower body injury, New York Islanders centre Kyle Palmieri of Smithtown, New York is out six to eight months with a torn anterior cruciate ligament, and Seattle Kraken centre Jaden Schwartz of Melfort, Saskatchewan is out six weeks with a lower body injury.

How did the injuries happen?

We know Roslovic got injured on Tuesday in an 8-3 Oilers loss to the Dallas Stars while blocking a shot. Schwartz, also suffered his injury against the Stars. In a 3-2 Seattle loss to Dallas on Wednesday, Schwartz got caught in the Dallas crease with Dallas defenseman Vladislav Kolyachonok of Minsk, Belarus and did not return according to Kate Shefte of The Seattle Times.

Palmieri meanwhile tore his ACL after delivering a bodycheck on Flyers defenseman Jamie Drysdale of Toronto, Ontario. While skating off the ice, Palmieri got possession of the puck, passed the puck to Islanders left winger Jonathan Drouin of Ste-Agathe, Quebec, who set up Islanders left winger Emil Heineman of Leksand, Sweden, for one of the most memorable assists in NHL history. You have to see the assist to believe it!

Dostal has not played for a week. That was in the Ducks’s 4-3 win over the Vegas Golden Knights.

Jack Roslovic

Roslovic has 10 goals and eight assists for 18 points in 23 games.
