Of all of the number-one pick caliber prospects in recent years, none (non-Wemby division) caused me more strife in thinking of apt comparisons. Dybantsa’s movement skills, athleticism and talent with the ball make him extremely unique. Maybe there’s some particles of George Gervin in there, who weaponized his elite size, touch and movement skills to score at will. Hopefully a better comparison or two will crystall

Strengths
- All-time wing athlete with special burst, flexibility and change-of-direction skills, unstoppable to keep out of the paint when he wants it
- Exceptional footwork and craft as a scorer, comfortable winning with step-throughs, drop-steps and all sorts of counters
- Vastly improved his pacing and control with the ball, impressive pick-and-roll scorer capable of weaponizing a screen to create open shots
- Improved passer who has enough vision and live-dribble passing skill to find teammates on the move
- Overwhelming on-ball defender when locked in, elite lateral explosiveness, size and length make him a nightmare to pass and dribble around
- Positive shooting touch, seasoned mid-range shotmaking and pre-NCAA priors project impactful 3-point shooting
Weaknesses
- Inconsistent decision making and shot selection with the ball curtail his impact, will settle for difficult off-dribble jumpers and reckless drives a bit too often
- Sometimes has loose ball control against hard digs and point-of-attack-pressure
- Processing and awareness a tick or two slow on defense, often a step behind chasing screens or rotating away from the ball
- Lacks S tier vertical explosiveness to maximize his elite horizontal athleticism
2026 NBA Draft Projection: Round 1, Pick 1-3
Dybantsa will enter the 2026 NBA Draft as one of the most decorated scoring and advantage creating prospects in recent years. He has plenty to prove in terms of defensive consistency and decisions, but so many elite teenage prospects share those warts and eventually grow out of them. He’s a gifted enough player on both ends of the ball to warrant a top draft pick even in a loaded class.
