Pacquiao Jr. fought another rookie making his professional debut, Brendan Lally. Lally, 23, is an English teacher in Chicago but is a former collegiate boxer. Since 2021, the younger Pacquiao has been training and working on his craft in the US. It was not the craft that his dad necessarily encouraged, but he did not stand in his way when he expressed serious interest.

Two judges scored it at 38-38, and the third judge had Pacquiao Jr. as the winner by the slim margin of 39-37.

His dad looked the role of the proud father who was impressed by his son’s first professional fight. Pacquiao Jr. is 6-4 in amateur action.
