It has been a hot topic for years, but with Tiger Woods turning 50 later this month and officially becoming eligible to play on the PGA Champions Tour for the over 50 sector, will fans see a lot of Woods in that capacity in 2026?
Woods did not directly answer the question at a recent press conference. He admitted that he is in the rehab process from an October back surgery and was recently cleared to chip and putt. Woods did joke that he will play 25 events next year before seriously saying he just does not know what his physical capabilities will be.
Will Tiger Woods play on the Champions Tour in 2026?

If Woods is healthy, he would make the Champions Tour must see television. A huge benefit for him that the regular PGA Tour does not afford is that the Champion Tour golfers use carts. Since Woods had the car accident that severely injured his leg in February 2021, walking 18 holes day-after-day at a PGA tournament has been an issue.
Tiger Woods Is A Golf Dad Too
Though fans are clamoring for a Tiger Woods return to the links, he has prioritized being a golf dad for his son Charlie Woods‘ events. He was recently spotted with ex-wife Elin Nordegren as onlookers while Charlie’s high school team won the state championship.
College recruiting will be another part of the golf journey that Tiger can help Charlie with. He admitted that it is vastly different than when he was considering Stanford over thirty years ago because the letters he once got in the mail have been replaced with instant communication via cell phones.
Tiger Woods the dad is always fascinating to me.
He was asked about his son Charlie’s recruitment and how that process has been for the two of them.
“It’s been very different, the recruiting process. Now you have cell phones. We didn’t have cell phones. We would have writtenโฆ pic.twitter.com/grE6ZOHZKB

Golf is better with Tiger Woods in it. Whatever capacity he wants to compete is beneficial for the PGA, golf fans, and the game in general. A big bonus would be some Champions Tour victories, but let’s take it one step at a time.
