Joe Flacco throws the ball.

The internet breathed a collective sigh of relief when it became apparent that fake news was broken about the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

A social media post attributed to Flacco seemingly indicated that he was being released by the Bengals.

With Joe Burrow back as the Bengals starting quarterback, it seemed plausible that Flacco could be released. However, no official outlet has reported anything of the sort so it appears that either this is a false account attributed to Flacco or the message has a different meaning.

How Fans Reacted To The Joe Flacco Fake News

One astute fan reported that Flacco was at practice when this was posted.

Another said that Flacco would never use the peace emoji, implying that he is too old for the emoji silliness.

Someone else said if it was true that Flacco should sign with the Minnesota Vikings.  Others jumped on that thought and echoed the same sentiment.

Bengals Are Still In The Hunt

All kidding aside, Joe Flacco will be firmly entrenched on the Bengals sideline assuming and hoping that Burrow stays healthy. The Bengals are not really out of contention in the hapless AFC North where no one seems to want to win the division. Flacco is a great asset with plenty of winning experience against AFC North foes.
