Kingston Flemings — Point Guard, Houston (19.4 years old)
Kingston Flemings Scouting Report & NBA Comparison
- Offensive role: Primary Initiator
- Defensive role: Off-Ball Disruptor/Guard Defender
NBA Comparison: De’Aaron Fox, George Hill
Flemings shares Fox’s blinding downhill speed, quick hands and excellent touch on intermediate shots, though he has him beat in outside shooting and playmaking at the same stage in their careers. His defensive ceiling is high enough to resemble a player like George Hill
Strengths
- Special first step allows for constant rim pressure and advantage creation, impossible to stay in front of one-on-one
- Exceptional processor while moving with the ball at high speeds, sports high vision, manipulation and anticipation as a passer
- Balances downhill driving with off-dribble shooting, effective stop-and-pop pull-up mid-range jumper as a counter
- Remarkably efficient scorer from all areas of the floor, effective catch-and-shoot threat away from the ball
- Intense and energetic defender with magnetic hands, rips handlers and forces deflections at the point-of-attack
Weaknesses
- Can add plenty of muscle and strength to better contain stronger players and absorb contact in the paint
- Plays a bit sped up on some drives, could improve his deceleration and change of speed deep into the paint, would benefit from keeping the ball alive deeper into drives
- Unproven outside shooter on high volume, must continue to score efficiently from behind the 3-point line
- Often behind the play defending screens away from the ball, struggles to navigate traffic
2026 NBA Draft Projection: Round 1, Pick 5-10
Despite likely unsustainable shooting efficiency to begin the season, Flemings is flashing all of the tools necessary to develop into a star lead guard at the NBA level. He must continue his strong play throughout the season, but players as young as Flemings who attack the hoop and create shots like him often reap long, successful NBA careers.
