With the third overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft, the Celtics selected Jaylen Brown out of California. Over 10 seasons, Brown has carved out a strong career. He is a four-time all-star, NBA Finals MVP, and one-time NBA champion. Additionally, Brown has averaged at least 20+ points per game for seven consecutive seasons. In 2025-26, Brown is averaging a career-high 29.1 points per game for Boston. He is thriving without Jayson Tatum in the lineup.

Not only is Kevin Garnett one of the greatest Celtics of all time, but he is a top PF in NBA history. Garnett played 21 professional seasons, six of them with the Celtics. Additionally, Garnett is a 15-time All-Star, 2003-04 MVP, 2007-08 DPOY, and one-time NBA champion. On top of that, he led the NBA in rebounding four times and had 12 all-defensive selections.
If Jaylen Brown and the Celtics win another championship, he could go down as one of the greats. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce are icons in Boston’s franchise. Like Jaylen Brown, they each won a championship. Brown still has plenty of time to add to his legacy. He is attempting to carry the Celtics in 2025-26 while they’re without Jayson Tatum. So far, Brown is doing a remarkable job.
