Another year, another sensational press tour from Chalamet.

The soon-to-be 30-year-old is currently promoting Marty Supreme, a sports drama set in the world of table tennis, in theaters on Christmas Day.

Last year, Chalamet proved he could be a football savant on College GameDay. Now, add wrestling enthusiast to the two-time Oscar nominee’s resume.

Chalamet was the latest guest on What Do You Wanna Talk About?a podcast hosted by Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. During their conversation, Chalamet spoke about his love for wrestling and meeting one of his favorite superstars, Bautista.

Before he transformed into a well-respected actor, Bautista was known as “The Animal” in WWE. Bautista’s intimidating size, charismatic presence, and in-ring talent led to multiple world championships.

Bautista is perhaps best known for his explosive entrance set to Saliva’s I Walk Alone. Chalamet remembered meeting Bautista for the first time while working on Dune. To break the ice, Chalamet played Bautista a familiar tune.

“He couldn’t believe it,” Chalamet said. “I knocked on his trailer door, and I had The Animal theme song playing. I hadn’t met him, and I was [doing the machine gun taunt]. The look on his face was priceless. He had no clue.”

Chalamet went on to praise Bautista for his acting ability.

“I love working with Dave. He’s a very serious guy. A very serious actor,” Chalamet added. “The last time I saw Dave, I couldn’t locate my mom at the Oscars. I feel bad because I hope he doesn’t think I was Hollywooding him because he was saying hi, and I literally couldn’t locate where my mother was. I love Dave. Batista and Rey Mysterio, that was the WWE I grew up on. Dave has one of the best entrances of all time.”

Timothée Chalamet Talks College GameDay

Last year, Chalamet shocked the entire college football world with an impressive performance on College GameDay.

During the picks segment for conference championship weekend, Chalamet shared insightful information for each game — Parker Navarro, anyone? — and left the entire panel impressed with his knowledge.

“I had my notes but I know when I went up there and I was, [Nick] Saban was looking at me like he hadn’t seen something like that before because I had a pink jacket on,” Chalamet told Rhodes about his picks segment. “And he was, I was imagining, imagine if I tried out for one of Saban’s teams man. He would’ve, probably would’ve traumatized me. But I had my notes and I was locked in, man.”
