We are nearing the finish of the 2025 part of the 2025-26 National Hockey League regular season, and the Boston Bruins are getting a breakout season from centre Morgan Geekie of Strathclair, Manitoba. Geekie is currently second in the NHL with 24 goals. Another player that deserves recognition for his offensive excellence is Minnesota Wild forward Matt Boldy of Milford, Massachusetts, who is tied for fifth in the NHL with 20 goals.
Morgan Geekie’s 2025-26 NHL statistics
Geekie has 24 goals and 13 assists for 37 points in 35 games. He is a -3 with 12 penalty minutes, 11 power-play points, four game-winning goals, 86 shots on goal, 47 faceoff wins, 12 blocked shots, 58 hits, seven takeaways, and 26 giveaways.
So far this season, Geekie has four two-goal games. In two of those games, Boston won. Geekie scored twice in a 3-2 Bruins shootout win over the Detroit Red Wings on November 29, and twice again in a 4-1 Bruins win over the Utah Mammoth on December 16. With Geekie’s performance so far this season, he should be in the discussion for the Canadian Olympic team.
Matt Boldy’s 2025-26 NHL statistics
Boldy is having a great season for the Wild too. He has 20 goals and 21 assists for 41 points. Boldy is a +13 with 20 penalty minutes, 13 power-play points, two game-winning goals, two shorthanded points, 114 shots on goal, 23 faceoff wins, 28 blocked shots, 26 hits, 15 takeaways, and 36 giveaways.
Boldy’s two game-winning goals both came in Wild shutouts. Boldy’s first game-winning goal came in a 2-0 Wild win over the Calgary Flames, and the second game-winning goal came in a 5-0 Wild win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on November 21. In the game against Calgary, Boldy scored from Marcus Johansson of Landskrona, Sweden and Joel Eriksson Ek of Karlstad, Sweden at 13:47 of the second period. In the game against Pittsburgh, Boldy scored from defenseman Brock Faber of Maple Grove, Minnesota and Ericsson Ek at 3:57 of the first period.
Boldy’s two shorthanded points also came in Wild wins. Both of the shorthanded points were shorthanded goals. The first came in a 4-3 Wild shootout win over the Carolina Hurricanes on November 19 and the second came in a 5-0 Wild win over the Washington Capitals on December 16. In the Wild win over the Hurricanes, Boldy scored an unassisted marker at 11:46 of the first period to put the Wild up 2-0. In the Wild win over the Capitals, Boldy closed out the scoring with five minutes and 44 seconds left. Defenseman Matt Kiersted of Elk River, Minnesota had the assist.
