Michigan Next Head Coach: Brohm, Fisch, & DeBoer Lead The Market

With Michigan officially searching for its next head coach following Sherrone Moore’s dismissal this December, bettors on Polymarket are able to wager on which candidate lands the job.

Which coaches have the best chance of becoming the next leader in Ann Arbor? We take a look at Polymarket’s percentages:

Who Will Be The Next Head Coach At Michigan?

Jeff Brohm — 16%

A longtime offensive coach and head coach at Louisville, Brohm has compiled a strong overall coaching résumé and has shown an ability to develop quarterbacks and build consistent teams. He has coached winning seasons at Western Kentucky, Purdue and now Louisville, and has familiarity with Big Ten football. The 16% market share likely reflects voters valuing reliability and a proven track record, even if he isn’t the most headline-grabbing name in the cycle.

Jedd Fisch — 14%

Jedd Fisch’s 14% odds highlight his blend of versatility and established relationships with Michigan’s culture. Currently the head coach at Washington with Big Ten experience and a past stint at Michigan as an assistant, Fisch commands respect as a program builder and recruiter. His resume includes rebuilding efforts at Arizona and Washington and a unique background that spans college and NFL coaching, which appeals to voters who want a coach with both tactical acumen and recruiting reach.

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer puts his arms out.

Kalen DeBoer — 11%

Kalen DeBoer’s inclusion isn’t insignificant, given that he’s widely viewed around the sport as one of the top head coaches in college football. He is currently at Alabama and his team is still alive in the College Football Playoff, though there have been questions surrounding his future at the university. If the Tide loses to Indiana in the second round, then DeBoer’s job will be a talking point, but he may have a solid backup option in Michigan.

Biff Poggi — 10%

Will Michigan choose continuity and hire from within? Biff Poggi went 2-0 in his interim relief of Sherrone Moore in 2025, and he spent three previous seasons with the program and different stops throughout his career. His resume is modest, and the only head coaching job that he’s ever held was at Charlotte, where he went 6-16 in two seasons.
