On Tuesday morning, the NFL revealed Pro Bowl rosters for 2025. The 49ers, Ravens, Broncos, and Seahawks led the way with six players selected.
After a 12-13 start to the 2025 season, one fanbase felt slighted. New England only had two players selected to the 2025 Pro Bowl roster. That is QB Drake Maye and CB Christian Gonzalez. Both are having stellar seasons for the Patriots. Maye was one of two AFC East QBs selected, along with Buffalo’s Josh Allen.

New England used the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft to select QB Drake Maye out of the University of North Carolina. As a rookie, he appeared in 13 of the Patriots’ 17 games and made 12 starts. He was the backup to Jacoby Brissett for the first five games of the season. Maye finished the year with 2,276 passing yards and 15 passing touchdowns. The 23-year-old has elevated his game in year two and is in MVP contention.
Through 15 games, Drake Maye has passed for 3,947 yards and 25 passing touchdowns. Additionally, he is leading the league with a .709 completion percentage. It’s been a special season for the second-year pro. With the success he’s had, the Patriots are 12-3. That is tied for the best record in the AFC. On Tuesday, Drake Maye was named to his first Pro Bowl. There will likely be more awards handed out to Maye at the end of the year.

Along with Drake Maye, Christian Gonzalez was a first-time Pro Bowl selection in 2025. Gonzalez is in his third season with the Patriots. He was the 17th overall pick by New England in 2023 out of Oregon. After suffering a torn labrum as a rookie, Gonzalez played in just four games for the Patriots. He bounced back in 2024 and started all 16 games he appeared in. He was named second team All-Pro and finished fifth in Comeback Player of the Year voting.
In 2025, Gonzalez started all 12 games he’s appeared in for the Patriots. While he doesn’t have an interception yet this season, the 23-year-old is turning into a lockdown corner. Drake Maye and Christian Gonzalez were deserving of earning their first Pro Bowl selections.
Patriots fans felt the team should have had more than two players. They are tied for the top record in their conference and the NFL. The team could use that as fuel moving forward as they look to make a deep run in the playoffs.
