New York Knicks star center Karl-Anthony Towns and his longtime girlfriend Jordyn Woods announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post on Christmas Day following a home win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Towns, 30, and Woods, 28, announced their engagement with a series of Instagram photos and a caption reading “Marry Christmas.”
The photos featured shots of Towns getting down on one knee at Overstory, a rooftop bar in New York City.

Woods is featured wearing a white fuzzy coat and a white dress underneath, while Towns is sporting a suede coat and black pants.
According to multiple sources, the couple began dating in May 2020. Woods celebrated their four-year anniversary in an Instagram video post in May 2024, calling Towns her “best friend.”
Towns, Woods Have Been Friends For Years
In Woods’ Instagram series Regular-ish, Towns reflected on the start of the couple’s romance and opened up about how their relationship helped him after the passing of his mother Jacqueline in April 2020.
“Me and Jordyn met years ago knowing common people and just became friends,” Towns explained. “And ever since then, our relationship grew where we became more than friends. I’m not saying in that way, but just best friends. And then we started having a deeper relationship.
“It just so happened, the COVID came and kind of brought its challenges and it kind of forced us to either pick where our relationship was going to go as friends or something more, and we chose the latter.”
During an exclusive interview with People in November 2023, Woods also noted that her friendship with Towns throughout the years helped build their strong relationship.
“Friendship and trust,” she said at the time. “We were really good friends before we started dating, and COVID gave us that free time in our life to really get to know each other, because a lot of people don’t really get to know each other and they go into this relationship.”
“So, we’ve been through a lot together,” she continued. “We’ve seen each other at all different ways, times, phases, so I think we have a very strong foundation.”
