Knicks Injury Report: Josh Hart, Mitchell Robinson Out Wednesday Vs. Spurs

Jalen Brunson and the Knicks are 8-2 in their last 10 games. As of Wednesday, December 31, New York is second in the Eastern Conference with a 23-9 record. Additionally, they’ve won three straight.

The Knicks will look to continue that win streak on Wednesday night vs. the Spurs. New York is on the road for their final game of 2025 before the New Year begins. Ahead of that matchup, two key players have been ruled out for the Knicks. Josh Hart and Mitchell Robinson are both dealing with ankle injuries. They will not play on Wednesday vs. San Antonio.

Josh Hart and Mitchell Robinson will not play for the Knicks on Wednesday

On Wednesday evening, two teams with identical records will meet for a cross-conference showdown. The 23-9 New York Knicks are on the road to face the 23-9 San Antonio Spurs. Both teams are second in their respective conferences. Against the Spurs, the Knicks have already ruled out two key role players. Josh Hart has a sprained right ankle, and Mitchell Robinson is trying to manage a left ankle injury.

This will be Hart’s third consecutive game missed for New York. While Hart has missed two straight games, Mohamed Diawara has been inserted into the starting lineup. Expect to see Diawara again on Wednesday when Josh Hart is out. New York knows there is still plenty of basketball left to be played. They do not want to rush Josh Hart back. The team will give the 30-year-old ample time to recover.

Out for the Knicks on Wednesday, along with Josh Hart, is backup big man Mitchell Robinson. Both players are dealing with ankle injuries. Robinson has appeared in 22 of the team’s 32 games and made 11 starts. His 18.5 minutes per game is the second-lowest average of his career. Head coach Mike Brown relies heavily on Karl-Anthony Towns’ 32.8 minutes per game at center in 2025-26.

Landry Shamet has missed 17 consecutive games for the Knicks since suffering a shoulder injury. Wednesday’s game will be his 18th straight game missed. However, Shamet has progressed to on-court activities for the Knicks. He is not yet cleared for contact but is working his way back to being available. Tyler Kolek is dealing with ankle soreness ahead of New York’s game on Wednesday. He is probable to play.
