Miami Dolphins Sign QB That Tom Brady Endorsed In 2025 NFL Draft

The Miami Dolphins have added a new face to their quarterback room, signing former Las Vegas Raiders practice squad quarterback Cam Miller to their 53-man roster as the 2025 NFL season heads into its final weekend.

Tom Brady Endorsed Cam Miller Ahead Of 2025 NFL Draft

It is unclear how Miami intends to use Miller, if at all. But the team may be able to give Miller a chance to get his first NFL action, and he comes with a solid pedigree and high praise from the greatest quarterback of all time.

Miller, a sixth-round pick (No. 215 overall) in the 2025 NFL Draft out of North Dakota State, was a simply a winner as an amateur. During his collegiate career, Miller started 56 games, led the Bison to two FCS national championships, and finished with a 45-11 record as a starter while setting multiple school passing marks.

His journey to the NFL began in April when the Raiders selected him in the draft. While he began his NFL career in Las Vegas, Miller did not make the Raiders’ initial 53-man roster and was instead signed to their practice squad, a common path for developmental quarterbacks. That experience, however, did not diminish his prospects.

One notable aspect of Miller’s draft process was the endorsement he received from Tom Brady, who as a minority owner of the Raiders publicly praised Miller’s throwing technique and potential. Brady’s backing was seen as a key factor in the Raiders’ decision to invest a draft pick in him as a developmental project, something the young signal-caller described as “humbling.”

The Dolphins will almost certainly be on the hunt for a new quarterback this offseason, and they are getting the evaluation process started early. The team benched starter Tua Tagovailoa late a couple of weeks back, which has given rookie Quinn Ewers the opportunity to get his first NFL starts over the last two games.

Whether or not the Dolphins intend to use Miller in Sunday’s game against the Patriots is still up in the air. Given that there is limited time for preparation for the practice squad rookie, it is likely that it will be Ewers getting the start on Week 18.
