USA, Sweden and Finland announce 2026 Olympic hockey rosters

Two days after Team Canada announced its roster for the hockey tournament at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo, the other three representatives from the Four Nations Tournament this past February listed their 25 players. Let’s take a look at who has been selected.

USA

The 14 American forwards are Matt Boldy, Kyle Connor, Jack Eichel, Jake Guentzel, Jack Hughes, Clayton Keller, Dylan Larkin, Auston Matthews, J.T. Miller, Brock Nelson, Tage Thompson, Brady Tkachuk, Matthew Tkachuk, and Vincent Trocheck. The eight American defensemen are Brock Faber, Noah Hanifin, Quinn Hughes, Seth Jones, Charlie McAvoy, Jake Sanderson, Jaccob Slavin, and Zach Werenski. The three American goaltenders are Connor Hellebuyck, Jake Oettinger and Jeremy Swayman.

Three notable omissions are Cole Caufield, Alex DeBrincat and Jason Robertson. It should be noted that Robertson leads all American born players in scoring this season with 48 points.

The goaltending position for the Americans is interesting. For the first time in his career, Hellebuyck has a losing record for the Jets (9-10-3), but he still has a better goals against average than Oettinger. Hellebuyck is at 2.51, compared to Oettinger at 2.57.

FINLAND

Team Finland are the reigning Olympic gold medalists from the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. It should be noted that the National Hockey League did not send a single player to the Olympics four years ago, and this will be a completely different roster this time around. The 14 forwards are Sebastian Aho, Joel Armia, Mikael Granlund, Erik Haula, Roope Hintz, Kaapo Kakko, Oliver Kapanen, Joel Kiviranta, Artturi Lehkonen, Anton Lundell, Eetu Luostarinen, Mikko Rantanen, Teuvo Teravainen, and Eeli Tolvanen. The eight defensemen are Miro Heiskanen, Henri Jokiharju, Mikko Lehtonen, Esa Lindell, Olli Maatta, Nikolas Matinpalo, Niiko Mikkola, and Rasmus Ristolainen. The three goaltenders are Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, Kevin Lankinen, and Juuse Saros.

The top Finnish player is Rantanen, who is fifth in the NHL in scoring at the moment. The Dallas Stars star forward has 56 points (16 goals and 40 assists).

SWEDEN

Team Sweden’s 14 forwards are Jesper Bratt, Leo Carlsson, Joel Eriksson Ek, Filip Forsberg, Pontus Holmberg, Adrian Kempe, Gabriel Landeskog, Elias Lindholm, William Nylander, Elias Pettersson, Rickard Rakell, Lucas Raymond, Alexander Wennberg, and Mika Zibanejad. The eight Swedish defensemen are Rasmus Andersson, Philip Broberg, Jonas Brodin, Rasmus Dahlin, Oliver Ekmann-Larsson, Gustav Forsling, Victor Hedman and Erik Karlsson. The three Swedish goaltenders are Filip Gustavsson, Jacob Markstrom, and Jesper Wallstedt. Zibanejad made hockey headlines on Friday night as he scored thrice in a a 5-1 New York Rangers win over the Florida Panthers in the Winter Classic.
