With a 115-102 loss to the 76ers on Monday, the Raptors are 24-17 this season. As of Wednesday, January 14, that is fourth in the Eastern Conference.
Toronto has been one of the surprising teams in the first half of the 2025-26 season. Media analysts did not predict the Raptors to be a top-four team at this point in the year. Recently, NBA insider Jake Fischer reported Toronto has three players it’d like to trade in a package deal. That includes RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, and Jakob Poeltl. The Raptors would like to acquire Domantas Sabonis from the Kings.
Will the Raptors find a trade partner ahead of the deadline?

At the 2023-24 deadline, the Raptors traded O.G. Anunoby to the New York Knicks. In return, Toronto received RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickly, Precious Achiuwa, Malachi Flynn, and a 2024 second-round pick. Since the trade, New York signed Anunoby long-term. Barrett and Quickley are the only players who are still on the Raptors’ roster. Recently, NBA insider Jake Fischer reported that the team has three players they would like to part ways with.
That includes RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickly, and Jakob Poeltl. Fischer said the Raptors would trade a combination of those players, however they can. He noted that Toronto wants to make a trade to acquire Domantas Sabonis from the Kings. Fischer reported that Sacramento doesn’t want to add any long-term contracts in a trade.

Barrett has two seasons left on a four-year, $107 million rookie extension he originally signed with the Knicks. He is on the books for $31 million in 2025-26 and $33.2 million in 2026-27. Immanuel Quickley signed a five-year, $175 million deal with the Raptors in June 2024. Quickley is under contract with the team through 2028-29. With the Kings not wanting to add a long-term contract, Immanuel Quickley would be a tough player to trade.
In July 2025, the Raptors signed veteran center Jakob Poeltl to a four-year, $104 million extension. Poeltl is under contract through the 2029-30 season. Again, he has a long-term deal that would be undesirable in a trade with the Kings. While Toronto continues to express interest in trading for Domantas Sabonis, that plan might not be realistic. The Raptors will listen to trade offers ahead of the deadline on February 5. Will the team part ways with RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, or Jakob Poeltl?
