Pelicans Trade Rumors Raptors Among Teams Targeting Yves Missi

New Orleans Pelicans center Yves Missi is among the potential targets for the Toronto Raptors ahead of the Feb. 5 trade deadline, per Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.

Pelicans Want First-Rounder For Yves Missi

Siegel reported that Toronto has explored the idea of acquiring Missi as part of a larger trade package. The Raptors proposed a deal that included RJ Barrett, Ochai Agbaji, and draft picks for Missi and Trey Murphy III.

New Orleans, however, didn’t have interest in that framework.

NBA insider Jake Fischer of The Stein Line was also told that New Orleans is seeking a 2026 first-rounder for Missi, and has already rejected at least one offer with second-round picks.

Since the Pelicans have already told teams that Zion Williamson, Herb Jones, Trey Murphy III, Derik Queen, and Jeremiah Fears are off limits, this means Missi is more likely to be dealt.

Through 41 games (seven starts) this season, Missi is averaging 5.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 19.2 minutes per outing while shooting 54.3% from the field and 58.2% from the foul line.

Raptors Would Be Perfect For Missi

Missi should appeal to the Raptors because the 6-foot-11 big man is earning $3.35 million this campaign, and his deal includes a $3.5 million salary for 2026-27 and a $5.6 million team option for 2027-28.

Although Toronto has been linked to other star bigs such as Anthony Davis and Domantas Sabonis, the team has yet to gain traction in trade talks for either player, sources told Siegel.

The Raptors are still expected to make an in-season trade, but it might not be for a high-profile star. That’s why a deal involving Missi could take place at some point between now and next week.

Six other teams across the league, including the Pacers, Knicks, and Bulls, have already expressed interest in Missi, as well as the Hawks, Celtics, and Lakers.

Considering the Pelicans rank dead last in the Western Conference with a 12-37 record, they should at least listen to offers for Williamson and Jones, especially if they’re presented an appealing return package.

After all, New Orleans might not get what it wants for Missi.
