College Football Week 4 Same Game Parlay: Texas Tech vs. Utah

Texas Tech enters the 2026 season as the favorite to repeat as Big 12 champion, with bookmakers listing the Red Raiders at -110 on the moneyline after last year’s breakout title run.

Texas Tech’s price reflects just how dominant last season’s run through the conference was.

The Red Raiders won their first-ever Big 12 title with a 34-7 rout of BYU in the championship game, capping a 12-1 regular season before falling to Oregon in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.

With much of that roster returning, oddsmakers see no reason to look elsewhere for the favorite.

Texas Tech Tops Big 12 Championship Odds

A moneyline price on a college football futures board is a rare sight, and it speaks to how thoroughly Texas Tech separated itself from the rest of the conference last season.

The Red Raiders led the Big 12 in total offense, total defense, scoring offense and scoring defense on their way to the program’s first outright conference title since 1955.

The quarterback picture, however, has been anything but simple this offseason.

Longtime starter Behren Morton is gone after being drafted by the Patriots in April, and his presumed replacement, transfer Brendan Sorsby, never took a snap for the program.

Sorsby’s tenure became engulfed in a legal battle over gambling violations from his time at Indiana and Cincinnati, and after months of court fights over his eligibility, he and Texas Tech mutually parted ways in early July.

That leaves the job to Will Hammond, who was working his way back from a torn ACL.

Even with that uncertainty under center, the market clearly still trusts a deep, experienced roster and a program that’s shown it can reload quickly to stay atop the conference.

BYU Returns as the Clear Second Choice

BYU checks in at +550 after reaching the championship game for the first time in program history a year ago, only to run into a buzzsaw in the rematch with Texas Tech.

The Cougars’ two losses on the season both came against the Red Raiders, a promising sign for a program that otherwise handled the rest of its schedule with ease.

Utah rounds out the clear top tier at +800, a team that beat both BYU and Texas Tech contenders at various points last season and enters the year with real conference title aspirations of its own.

A Crowded Middle Tier Looks for Its Opening

Kansas State and Houston headline the next group at +1400 and +1600, respectively, both programs capable of crashing the top of the standings with the right breaks.

Arizona, Arizona State and TCU are bunched closely behind, with Arizona State in particular carrying extra intrigue after its stunning run to the 2024 conference title from a preseason afterthought.

From Oklahoma State’s +2800 on down, the board turns into legitimate long-shot territory, with Iowa State’s +10000 representing the biggest reach on the list.

As always with a conference that’s produced a new championship contender nearly every year, don’t be surprised if this board looks completely different by the time November rolls around.
