Rob Gronkowski is one win away from playing in another Super Bowl. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end has played in several of them as a member of the New England Patriots. Judging by his recent comments, the Pro-Bowl tight end still thinks he’s a member of the Patriots.

Rob Gronkowski is one of the best tight ends of all-time

Rob Gronkowski has spent 10 seasons in the NFL after playing his college football at Arizona. The man known as Gronk was drafted in the second round of the 2010 NFL draft. The New England Patriots took him with the 42nd overall pick.

Gronkowski is a five-time Pro Bowler who retired after the 2018 season. After sitting out the 2019 season, Gronk returned to the NFL in 2020, joining former Patriots teammate Tom Brady to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The two have combined for seven touchdown passes this season.

For his career, Gronkowski has racked up 98 touchdown catches, playoffs included. In his second year in the NFL, Gronk led the league in touchdown receptions with 17. Gronkowski is a three-time Super Bowl champion.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers roster is loaded. It’s clear that when they signed Tom Brady as a free agent, the Bucs were going to do something the New England Patriots weren’t able to do. With salary cap restraints, the Patriots were unable to re-sign Brady and surround him with talent. The Buccaneers certainly have been able to do that.

Brady moved on to Tampa and was able to help lure Rob Gronkowski out of retirement. Gronkowski gave the Bucs three quality tight ends, along with Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard. Howard suffered a season-ending injury. Gronk also added to a receiving corps that includes Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Antonio Brown, another player lured to Tampa by Brady.

The Bucs also added running back Leonard Fournette, a former first-round pick, to the offensive mix. Although it’s taken them a little while to mesh, the Buccaneers finished the regular season at 11-5. They have won their first two postseason games and will travel to Green Bay to face the top-seeded Packers in the NFC title game Sunday.

Gronk apparently still feels like he’s with the Patriots

When Rob Gronkowski suits up Sunday to face the Green Bay Packers in the conference championship Sunday, it will mark the fifth time he and Brady have suited up together in a conference title game. After the Bucs’ win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, a fired-up Gronk was excited to be one win from the Super Bowl yet again.

According to NESN, Gronk was seen and heard on a video on teammate Devin White’s Instagram account. After Sunday’s victory, Gronk blurted out, “We’re going to the AFC Championship Game.”

White was quick to respond, saying, “We ain’t in the AFC. We’re the NFC.” Gronk apparently still hasn’t seemed to get used to his new surroundings just yet.
