The Los Angeles Dodgers are heavily favored to win the MLB World Series.

Their starting rotation may expand to a six-man rotation when Ohtani is cleared to be a starting pitcher.

  • 1. Chris Sale, LHP
  • 2. Reynaldo Lopez, RHP

  • 6. Michael Harris, CF
  • 7. Drake Baldwin, C
  • 8. Jarred Kelenic, RF
  • 9. Orlando Arcia, SS

The Braves are the second favorite to win the World Series.

Ace Spencer Strider is expected to return in April, which will boost the starting rotation for the Braves.

Profar will bat leadoff till Ronald Acuna returns to the lineup. Acuna may not return until May.

When Strider and Acuna return to health, the Braves have a very dangerous team.

Atlanta has an excellent team and is a threat to dethrone the Dodgers.

New York Yankees (+850)

Projected 2025 Opening Day Rotation:

  • 1. Carlos Rodon, LHP
  • 2. Max Fried, LHP
  • 3. Marcus Stroman, RHP

Projected 2025 Opening Day lineup:

  • 6. Jasson Dominguez, LF
  • 7. Ben Rice, DH
  • 8. Anthony Volpe, SS
  • 9. Oswaldo Cabrera, 3B

The Yankees are the third favorite to win the World Series.

Gerrit Cole will miss the 2025 season due to Tommy John surgery. This is a huge hit to their starting rotation.

In the Yankees’ history, they have never had a catcher bat leadoff. This seems likely to change this year.

Despite losing Juan Soto, the Yankees are still a contender for the World Series.

Philadelphia Phillies (+1200)

Projected 2025 Opening Day Rotation:

  • 1. Zack Wheeler, RHP
  • 2. Jesus Luzardo, LHP
  • 3. Aaron Nola, RHP

  • 9. Brandon Marsh, CF

The Phillies are the fourth favorite to win the World Series.

Trea Turner or Kyle Schwarber may bat leadoff. The lineup has not been confirmed yet. Bryce Harper remaining healthy will be key for the Phillies this season.

Philadelphia has a good team that can make a deep playoff push.

New York Mets (+1200)

Projected 2025 Opening Day Rotation:

  • 1. Kodai Senga, RHP
  • 2. Clay Holmes, RHP
  • 3. David Peterson, LHP

  • 5. Mark Vientos, 3B
  • 6. Jesse Winker, DH
  • 7. Tyrone Taylor, CF
  • 8. Brett Baty, 2B
  • 9. Luis Torrens, C

The Mets are the fifth favorite to win the World Series.

Sean Manaea and Frankie Montas will begin the season on IL. When they return, Canning and Megill will likely be bumped out of the starting rotation.

Injuries to Jeff Mcneil and Francisco Alvarez open spots for Baty and Torrens.

The biggest offseason move was the Mets signing Juan Soto. Soto makes the Mets have one of the best batting lineups in the league.

Houston Astros (+1500)

Projected 2025 Opening Day Rotation:

  • 1. Framber Valdez, LHP
  • 2. Hunter Brown, RHP
  • 3. Ronel Blanco, RHP
  • 4. Spencer Arrighetti, RHP
  • 5. Hayden Wesneski, RHP

Projected 2025 Opening Day lineup:

  • 6. Jeremy Pena, SS
  • 7. Chas McCormick, RF
  • 8. Mauricio Dubon, 2B
  • 9. Jake Meyers, CF

The Astros are the sixth favorite to win the World Series.

Houston has a good 1-2 combo with Valdez and Brown at the top of their starting rotation. Blanco is a workhorse as the third option.

Christian Walker should thrive in his first season with the Astros.

Houston is still one of the best teams in the league.

Baltimore Orioles (+1600)

Projected 2025 Opening Day Rotation:

  • 1. Zach Efflin, RHP
  • 2. Charlie Morton, RHP
  • 3. Dean Kremer, RHP

  • 5. Tyler O’Neill, LF
  • 6. Ryan O’Hearn, DH
  • 7. Ryan Mountcastle, 1B
  • 8. Jackson Holliday, 2B
  • 9. Cedric Mullins, CF

The Orioles are the seventh favorite to win the World Series.

Henderson’s status for Opening Day is in question due to a mild right intercostal strain. If he were to begin the season on the IL, he would claim the leadoff spot once he returns.

Grayson Rodriguez begins the season on the IL. Once he returns, Povich or Sugano will get bumped from the starting rotation.

Baltimore is still a young team but has a ton of talent and upside.

Boston Red Sox (+2000)

Projected 2025 Opening Day Rotation:

  • 1. Garrett Crochet, LHP
  • 2. Tanner Houck, RHP
  • 3. Walker Buehler, RHP
  • 4. Richard Fitts, RHP

  • 2. Rafael Devers, DH
  • 3. Alex Bregman, 3B
  • 4. Triston Casas, 1B
  • 5. Trevor Story, SS
  • 6. Wilyer Abreu, RF
  • 7. Connor Wong, C
  • 8. Kristian Campbell, 2B
  • 9. Ceddanne Rafaela, CF

The Red Sox are the eighth favorite to win the World Series.

Crochet was acquired via a trade and is the ace of the starting rotation. The Red Sox are dealing with injuries to Brayan Bello, Kutter Crawford, and Lucas Giolito which will test the starting rotation early.

Devers is not expected to be at 3B this season with Bregman coming to Boston.

Boston can surprise a lot of people this season and win the AL East.

Arizona Diamondbacks (+2500)

Projected 2025 Opening Day Rotation:

  • 1. Corbin Burnes, RHP
  • 2. Zac Gallen, RHP
  • 3. Merill Kelly, RHP
  • 4. Eduardo Rodriguez, LHP
  • 5. Brandon Pfaadt, RHP

  • 2. Ketel Marte, 2B
  • 3. Lourdes Gurriel Jr, LF
  • 4. Josh Naylor, 1B
  • 5. Eugenio Suarez, 3B
  • 6. Gabriel Moreno, C
  • 7. Pavin Smith/Randal Grichuk, DH
  • 8. Jake McCarthy, CF
  • 9. Geraldo Perdomo, SS

The Diamondbacks are the ninth favorite to win the World Series.

Arizona will mix and match the DH spot between Grichuk and Smith.

Ryne Nelson and Jordan Montgomery are also considered starters. Arizona could wind up using one or both in the starting rotation.

Corbin Burnes was a major addition to the starting rotation.

The Diamondbacks have a dangerous team that can go far in the playoffs.

Texas Rangers (+2500)

Projected 2025 Opening Day Rotation:

  • 1. Jacob deGrom, RHP
  • 2. Nathan Eovaldi, RHP
  • 3. Tyler Mahle, RHP
  • 4. Jack Leiter, RHP
  • 5. Kumar Rocker, RHP

Projected 2025 Opening Day lineup:

  • 1. Marcus Semien, 2B
  • 2. Corey Seager, SS
  • 3. Wyatt Langford, LF
  • 4. Adolis Garcia, RF
  • 5. Joc Pederson, DH
  • 6. Josh Jung, 3B
  • 7. Jake Burger, 1B
  • 8. Jonah Heim, C
  • 9. Evan Carter, CF

The Rangers are the tenth favorite to win the World Series.

Texas signed LHP Patrick Corbin to a one-year deal but it is unclear if Corbin will be ready for a workload by Opening Day. Injuries to LHP Cody Bradford and RHP Jon Gray hinder the starting rotation.

Joc Pederson will DH against righties but he may sit against Southpaws. This could leave playing time for Leody Tavares against lefties.

Texas has a dangerous offense and if deGrom can remain healthy, the Rangers can make a deep playoff push.
