2025 NFL Draft: Asking Price For No. 1 Overall Pick Continues To Rise

The Tennessee Titans own the top pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft, and what direction they’ll take is still a massive question mark. The team is in desperate need of a quarterback, but there are a handful of teams that have a hole at the position as well. There has been speculation regarding a possible trade for Tennessee, but it appears as though their asking price will be increasing thanks to their interest in QB prospect Cam Ward.
Asking Price For Top Pick In NFL Draft Will Continue To Rise
Ward has recently separated himself from the rest of the pack when it comes to the likelihood of being picked first overall. According to the oddsmakers, he is listed as a heavy -750 favorite to be the top selection, having pulled away from Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter in recent weeks. Pundits and analysts have reported that teams are sure that the QB out of Miami will be the first name called on April 24th.
But will it be the Titans making the pick? It is becoming increasingly likely that they’ll hold on to their valuable asset.
The University of Miami held its Pro Day on Monday, giving Ward the stage in order to showcase his talents for NFL scouts. As reported by NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, essentially the entire decision-making team for the Titans was present at the event, including the general manager, assistant GM, and coaching staff that included the head coach and offensive coordinator. To add to their notion of interest, Tennessee’s brass also met with Ward over dinner this past weekend.

The interest doesn’t stop there. On Tuesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter fired off a tweet that explained that the Titans will be hosting a private workout for Cam Ward. He said that the team has become increasingly impressed with Ward, adding that they’ll still be listening to calls and trade offers, but that the price tag has increased just in recent days.
There are a handful of NFL teams that could be interested in creating a package to trade up for Ward. The Giants, Browns, and Steelers are all searching for their quarterback of the future, and are likely making calls to the Titans’ front office in order to gauge their price. There are other QB prospects that are fringe first round talents, but Ward has separated himself as the best available signal calling prospect in this year’s class.
