The order for the 2025 NFL Draft is set. After a flurry of movement during the final weeks of the 2024, it is the Tennessee Titans who have secured the first overall pick for April’s selection process. There are still months to go before the big night, and there are plenty of factors that are subject to change.

Will Tennessee trade out? Will they opt to select one of the top quarterback prospects to help fix their offensive issues? And if they do, which QB will they choose?

2025 NFL Draft Odds: Who Will Be Selected 1st Overall?

The oddsmakers at BetOnline have set the betting lines for this year’s draft, and the player with the best chance of going #1 may come as a bit of a surprise.

Here are the odds for which player will be taken with the top overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft:

Cam Ward -150
Shedeur Sanders +110
Travis Hunter +800
Mykel Williams +5000
Kelvin Banks Jr +5000
Abdul Carter +6600
Will Campbell +6600

Most of the talk and hype surrounding the first overall pick has been centered on Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders. He was widely projected to be the top prospect selected, at the top of most of the notable mock draft boards across the internet. He was one of the leaders in many of the important statistical categories for quarterbacks, with a reputation buoyed by his NFL legend father.

But according to the latest odds released from BetOnline, he is anything but a sure bet to be picked first overall.

The two elite QB prospects on the board figure to be the first two players selected. They have far shorter odds than any other player in the category, which is aided by the teams at the top that are hungry to bring their potential franchise leader.

Sanders is second in line, according to the oddsmakers. After coming in as the favorite in recent weeks, his designation has dropped down to +110, just about as close to even money as any wager you’ll see. His slight drop in reputation likely has to do with his less-than-stellar bowl game performance, in which he racked up just 208 yards through the air and threw two interceptions in a 36-14 loss to BYU.

The player now listed as the favorite to be picked first is Cam Ward out of Miami. Ward threw more touchdowns than any quarterback in the nation this past season (39) and committed three fewer interceptions (7) than Sanders, all while throwing for the second-most yards out of anyone. Thanks to a late-season loss against Syracuse, the Hurricanes missed out on the College Football Playoff despite having one of the most dynamic offenses in the country.

Once thought of as perhaps the 4th or 5th best prospect on the board, Ward is now in the top spot according to the odds. He has a current designation of -150 to be the first overall pick.

Who Are The Non-QB Prospects Who Have A Chance?

There is only one other player that teams will likely have in their first tier of 2025 prospects. Travis Hunter won the Heisman Trophy award by being a dominant player on both sides of the ball for Colorado, and will very likely be the first non-QB off of the board in April.

But could he climb as high as #1? The two quarterback prospects are of course the favorites, but each has flaws in their game, which could shift around big boards as we approach the selection process. Hunter appears to be the only sure-thing prospect in this year’s class, and there could be a team that is willing to trade up with the Titans in order to bring him to their city.

Hunter’s odds of being the first pick are +800, which is further down the board than Sanders or Ward, but well ahead of the rest of the bunch that are considered to be long shots.

Outside of the expected top-3, BetOnline only gives four other betting options for being the #1 pick. Defensive end Mykel Williams from Georgia and offensive tackle Kelvin Banks out of Texas still have upcoming games to prove their worth as they participate in the College Football Playoff, and they are both listed as +5000 long shots to go #1. Adbul Carter from Penn State has the same benefit of added games, as he and LSU’s Will Campbell both come in with a designation of +6600.
