The football season is around the corner and NFL betting is already starting to heat up ahead of training camp.
Vegas has set the total wins for each NFL team, and three teams appear to be great bets to exceed their expected win total.
Three NFL Teams Going Over Their Projected Win Totals
Three teams make for great bets to go over their expected win total. The three teams are the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, and Minnesota Vikings.
- Dallas Cowboys: Over 7.5 wins
- Green Bay Packers: Over 9.5 wins
- Minnesota Vikings: Over 8.5 wins
Dallas Cowboys: Over 7.5 Wins
The Dallas Cowboys dealt with numerous injuries to key players last season and missed the playoffs.
Their defense was awful, ranking 31st in points allowed per game. Losing QB Dak Prescott hurt the defense, as the offense was unable to sustain drives and left the defense on the field more often.
This season, Dak is healthy and has an added weapon. The Cowboys acquired WR George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers to pair with WR CeeDee Lamb. This is a good WR duo. Their offensive line will improve in 2025 as well.
On defense, CB DaRon Bland will be healthy to begin the season, but Trevon Diggs may not be ready for week 1. Micah Parsons is healthy and remains one of the best pass rushers in the league.
With Dak healthy, this Cowboys team will be a lot better than people anticipate. Dallas will win eight or more games and go over their 7.5 win total.
Green Bay Packers: Over 9.5 Wins
Green Bay finished third in the NFC North with an 11-6 record last season.
The Packers made the playoffs but lost 22-10 in the wild-card round against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Jordan Love did not have as good a season as expected. He played in 15 games and 3,389 passing yards, 25 passing TDs, and 11 interceptions. This was a dip from his 2023 season.
Josh Jacobs had the best year of his career in his first season with the Packers. He played in all 17 games and had 1,329 rushing yards and 15 rushing TDs.
The defense was good for the Packers last season, ranking fifth in points allowed per game.
If Jordan Love has a better 2025 season than 2024, Green Bay is a threat to win the division and Conference.
The Packers have a good all-around team. Wideout Matthew Golden was selected in the first round to help give Love some more weapons. Golden has a huge opportunity from week 1 to make his presence felt. Green Bay will be better than last year, which saw them win 11 games.
The Packers will go over their 9.5 win total.
Minnesota Vikings: Over 8.5 Wins
The Vikings were second in the NFC North with a 14-3 record last season.
J.J. McCarthy will be the starting QB in 2025. He was out all last year due to injury. Minnesota elected to let Darnold go and is fine with going with McCarthy as their QB.
Justin Jefferson remains one of the best wideouts in the NFL. Jordan Addison is also a very good WR. Aaron Jones remains a steady and productive back. Minnesota still has weapons on offense.
The Vikings attack the QB on defense. They ranked sixth in sacks per game last season. Minnesota also stopped the run at an elite rate. They ranked second in the league in rushing yards allowed per game. Minnesota ranked fourth in points allowed per game last year.
If McCarthy plays well, this is a Vikings team capable of winning the NFC North and is a Super Bowl contender.
Trusting Kevin O’Connell is a wise move to make, and he will get the best out of McCarthy. Minnesota will go over its 8.5 expected win total.
