Game 3 of the 2025 World Series was an epic one in every possible way as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 6-5. There were so many unusual circumstances, great plays, and big moments that it was more like a miniseries disguised in an 18-inning thriller.
Here are the four of the biggest tearjerker moments.
1. Sandy Koufax Was There

Baseball is great at keeping its historical icons in the discussion in today’s game. Another example of that was 89-year-old Sandy Koufax being at this game.
Koufax will turn 90 on December 30, and he will forever be considered one of the best Dodgers ever. His number 32 is retired, and he has accomplished everything as a Dodgers pitcher; World Series wins, All Star appearances, Cy Young awards, Triple Crowns, a perfect game, and no-hitters.
2. Clayton Kershaw Added To His Legendary Resume
Like Koufax, Kershaw is a life-long Dodger who is beloved by everyone in Los Angeles.
His appearance as a relief pitcher in one of the tightest situations of the game, with the bases loaded, and needing to record one critical out had many on the edge of their seats.
Weight of the WORLD on his shoulders
Has pitched just once in the past month
Criticized endlessly for coming up short in October
And Clayton Kershaw saves the Game for the Dodgers.

3. Will Klein Is A New Dodgers Hero
Will Klein is new to the Dodgers scene, but he will be a lifelong hero in LA.
The last relief pitcher standing in the bullpen delivered despite making league minimum and struggling to get his major league opportunity.
It will go down as ‘The Will Klein Game’
On a super team with $300M+ contracts all over the field, it was the last guy in the bullpen, making league minimum, who had been released by 3 teams, started the year in the minors, and left off the playoff roster until the World Series. pic.twitter.com/d2HcwzPlN2

Will Klein had never pitched more than 2 innings in any of his 23 MLB appearances before tonight.
His 72 pitches across 4 scoreless frames (and only one hit allowed) saved the Dodgers en route to Freddie Freeman’s walk-off dinger.

4. Freddie Freeman Did It Again
The Dodgers’ big stars usually deliver, and Freddie Freeman did it for the second year in a row with a walkoff homerun in the 18th inning.

What a moment! What a game!
Honorable Mention To Will Smith And Shohei Ohtani Who Delivered Also
DODGERS!
Unbelievable, unprecedented, unparalleled. My players of the game:
Freddie Freeman: walk-off HR, 18th inning.
Will Klein: 4 scoreless, 5 K
Will Smith: caught 18 innings!
Shohei Ohtani: I mean. On base nine times to tie a major league record.
Clayton Kershaw: ⚾️💙🔥 pic.twitter.com/ZVjpMN8qRB— L.A. in a Minute (@LaInaMinute) October 28, 2025
