Rodgers has made it known that he wants to play two to four more years if healthy. On Tuesday, Rodgers addressed reporters who asked if the team’s 3-7 record has changed his mind about playing multiple years.
“Not really, not for the negative,” Rodgers said via SNY. “Not really, no.”
Rodgers is in the midst of his worst statistical year in a long time. The 40-year-old has thrown for 2,258 yards, 15 touchdowns, and seven interceptions with a 52.0 QBR.
So does Rodgers want to play in 2025?
“I think so, yeah,” Rodgers said.
Rodgers is under contract for 2025, but his salary is only $3.16 million and unguaranteed. However, Rodgers’ roster bonus is $35 million.
The roster bonus is not required to be paid until the 2025 season starts, meaning the Jets can go into free agency and the draft without having to make a decision on Rodgers.
If Rodgers plays for the Jets in 2025, his dead cap hit is $35 million. However, if the Jets cut Rodgers, he carries a dead cap number of $49 million.

The Jets fired Robert Saleh to shake things up after falling to 2-3.
Since defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich became the interim head coach, the Jets are 1-4.
If Rodgers wants to play in 2025, he will presumably be involved in the head coaching search. While he won’t have the final say, pairing Rodgers with the right head coach and offensive coordinator is of the utmost importance.
The Jets (3-7) are hosting the Indianapolis Colts (4-6) in Week 11.
