Ageless New York Rangers Backup Goalie Jonathan Quick Is Undefeated
NHL teams are blessed to have stellar goalie play from their number one goalie. However, the New York Rangers are downright spoiled by the play of veteran goalie Jonathan Quick. Quick is two months away from turning 39 years old, a three-time Stanley Cup Champion (Los Angeles Kings two times and Vegas Golden Knights), and undefeated in 2024 (4-0) in five games played.
Look at that smile 😏

What Has Jonathan Quick Accomplished In 2024?
The numbers he is putting up in his 19th season are amazing.
He has given up four goals in 135 shots, saving 131 for a 97% save percentage.
Quick’s last two games were shutouts giving him 62 career shutouts.

Only 14 goalies in NHL history have accomplished this feat with the most recent happening a few weeks ago. Florida Panthers Sergei Bobrovsky, 36, recorded his 400th career win on October 24, 2024.
He Is Special, “One of One”
Quick’s teammates know that they are witnessing greatness.
Chris Kreider calls Quick “one of one.”
Kreider added: “I don’t have the words to describe it. He makes goaltending look fun, just the way he moves, the saves he makes, the way he competes…I mean, you should see him warming up before the game, the splits and stuff that he’s doing. He’s an incredible athlete and awesome teammate.”
It will be fun to see how Jonathan Quick continues to up his level and compete even better as he gets older. The future Hall of Famer appears to have plenty of energy and game left to entertain hockey fans for as long as he wants to.
