Alvin Kamara Contract Extension

Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Kamara has signed a two-year contract extension worth $24.5 million. The deal keeps Kamara in New Orleans through 2026.

The extension includes $22 million guaranteed and $1.5 million in incentives.

By signing Kamara to the extension now, the Saints save around $18 million on the 2025 salary cap.

Kamara left the Saints’ minicamp earlier this offseason due to his frustration with his contract. However, Kamara did not miss any training camp and decided to play this season without a new deal.

Now, Kamara gets what he wants: to play for the Saints and potentially retire in New Orleans.

Alvin Kamara’s Productive 2024 Season

After opening up the season 2-0, the Saints have lost five consecutive games and stand at 2-5.

Despite the Saints’ struggles, Kamara, 29, is in the midst of a productive season.

The versatile running back has 438 rushing yards on 111 carries and six touchdowns. In the passing game, Kamara has registered 34 receptions for 252 yards and one touchdown.

The Saints hit the road in Week 8 to play the Los Angeles Chargers (3-3).
