Amazon Prime now has a stake in both the NFL and NBA when it comes to broadcasting games, and they are taking full advantage on one of the biggest shopping days of the year. Between the two leagues, there will be three games broadcasted on the popular streaming service on Black Friday, continuing Amazon’s Thanksgiving Weekend sports surge.
Amazon Prime To Show 12 Hours Of Sports On Black Friday
Thanksgiving is one of the biggest days of the season for the NFL. There will be three games played again this year in the cities of Detroit, Dallas, and Baltimore, and their broadcasts will be shown across three different platforms. FOX, CBS, and NBC will share the honors on the final Thursday of November.
The following day will be owned by Amazon Prime.

When Amazon gained the rights to stream select NFL games, their contract included a special quirk. In 2023, the inaugural Black Friday game was held, played between the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets. The plan was to take holiday shoppers away from brick and mortar locations by putting football in front of them, and then making in-game advertisements shoppable from the comfort of their couches.
It worked, as the Black Friday game is now a yearly occurrence. This year, a matchup between NFC teams will be featured, as the Chicago Bears will pay a visit to the Philadelphia Eagles. The game is set to kick off at 3pm Eastern.
But that isn’t all that Amazon Prime will be showing that day. Thanks to a new deal going into effect in 2025-26, the company will now broadcast select NBA games throughout the year, including Black Friday.

An NBA double header will be tipping off at 7:30PM ET on November 28th, starting with a matchup between the Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks. The second game will begin at 10PM ET, and will feature Luka Dončić and the Los Angeles Lakers squaring off against his old team in the Dallas Mavericks.
Those two games are part of an 11 game slate in the NBA that evening, as there are no games scheduled at all on Thanksgiving Day.
