Angel Reese Double-Doubles

Angel Reese is a groundbreaking WNBA athlete.  She continues the pioneering trend with an upcoming collaboration with McDonald’s.  Reese and the fast food chain are teaming up to develop the “Angel Reese Special”, a meal that will be available beginning February 10.

What Is The McDonald’s “Angel Reese Special”?

Reese, a 2020 McDonald’s All-American, said it was a no-brainer to work with McDonald’s. Her youth is filled with memories of McDonald’s stops to and from practices and games.

The WNBA star had fun developing the meal. It contains a BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder with Cheese topped with a new BBQ sauce, french fries, and a drink.

Bacon is one of her favorite foods so it was a must-have in the burger.  The barbeque sauce is a new recipe for McDonald’s combining sweet, savory, and spicy flavors.

Angel Reese Is First Female Athlete To Get A Meal Named After Her

McDonald’s has collaborated with athletes in the past for menu items, but Reese is the first female athlete.  She is honored to receive the distinction and hopes to pay it forward as a way of inspiring young female athletes to continue pursuing their dreams.

The fast food chain has always had strong ties with professional basketball.  Among its first collaborations with an athlete was with NBA star Michael Jordan in the early 1990s mainly in the Chicago area.  Somewhat similar to the “Angel Reese Special, the “McJordan Special” included a quarter-pound cheeseburger with bacon, barbecue sauce, mustard, onions, cheese, pickles, french fries, and a drink.
