Hathaway is an Eagles fan with familial ties to the city of Philadelphia. Hathaway’s grandfather was Joe McCauley, a former radio personality for WIP.

McCauley was known as the “Morning Mayor” for nearly three decades on the air.

Hathaway attended the Super Bowl with her five-year-old son Jack. Hathaway appeared on the Fox broadcast while cheering for the Eagles and instantly became an internet sensation.

“Every major sporting event will feature cutaways to an excited Anne Hathaway under my presidency,” Brandon Sreussnig wrote on X.

“Anne Hathaway is the type of woman you go to war for,” said @vidsthatgohard.

Gifdsports wrote, “If Anne Hathaway is an Eagles fan then I’m an Eagles fan too.”

Kei wrote, “Anne Hathaway is for the birds? My Queen!”

Hathaway had a lot to cheer about, considering her Eagles defeated the Chiefs 40-22 to win Super Bowl LIX.

Anne Hathaway’s Memorable Sports Moments

In November, Hathaway sat courtside at a Knicks game inside Madison Square Garden with her son Jack.

During the first quarter, Knicks forward OG Anunoby raced for a ball heading toward Hathaway and her son. Anunoby crashed over one of the tables and almost hit Hathaway.

Thankfully, Anunoby and the Hathaways were OK.

The next day, Hathaway posted the close call to her Instagram and happily called it a “bucket list moment.”

Anunoby commented on the spot, saying, “You’re welcome.”
