Vanderbilt Enters Top 10

For the first time since 1947, the Vanderbilt Commodores are in the Associated Press Top 25 poll.

After losing their first game of the season to Alabama, No. 17 Vanderbilt responded with an impressive 31-24 victory over No. 10 LSU.

Quarterback Diego Pavia threw for one touchdown and rushed for two touchdowns in the victory.

At 6-1, Vandy is off to their best start since 1950.

College Gameday will head to Vanderbilt on Saturday when the No. 10 Commodores host No. 15 Missouri.

Georgia Outlasts Ole Miss

The Georgia Bulldogs are back to their winning ways.

Kirby Smart’s ninth-ranked Bulldogs outscored No. 5 Ole Miss 17-0 in the fourth quarter to win 43-35.

Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns in the win. Georgia entered the fourth quarter down 35-26 before embarking on their impressive comeback.

The Bulldogs return to the top five for the first time in three weeks.

No. 5 Georgia has a bye week before traveling to the Swamp to play Florida on Nov. 1.

For Ole Miss, the Rebels fell back a few spots to No. 8. A tough loss on the road to Georgia doesn’t hurt their playoff chances. If the Rebels win out, they will make the College Football Playoff.

No. 7 Ole Miss heads to Norman to play No. 13 Oklahoma on Oct. 25.

The Unbeaten Teams Left in College Football

There are six undefeated teams left in Division I, with five of them in this week’s top 25.

The teams without a defeat are No. 1 Ohio State, No. 2 Indiana, No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 7 Georgia Tech, No. 11 BYU, and unranked Navy.

If Ohio State and Indiana win out, they will face each other in the Big 10 Championship.

Texas A&M’s path to an undefeated season is much tougher than the two Big 10 teams. A&M still has to play LSU, Missouri, South Carolina, and Texas.

The toughest opponent remaining on Georgia Tech’s schedule is Georgia, whom they play in the final game of the season.

BYU begins a tough two-game stretch with road games at Iowa State and Texas Tech.

If Navy wins two more games, they will be undefeated entering the Notre Dame matchup.
