Texas quarterback and Heisman Trophy favorite Quinn Ewers suffered an abdominal strain in the second quarter of Texas’ 56-7 win over UTSA. Ewers left the game and has not played a down since.

In his absence, Manning has taken over the reins at quarterback. Manning finished the game completing 9 of 12 passes for 223 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Manning also rushed for 53 yards and one touchdown.

Manning got the start last Saturday against UL Monroe. The redshirt freshman finished 15 of 29 for 258 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Longhorns’ 51-3 win.

Ewers is currently questionable for No. 1 Texas’ SEC opener against Mississippi State. If Ewers cannot go, Manning will get the start.

Manning cannot enter the 2025 NFL Draft due to eligibility rules. The earliest draft he can enter is the one in 2026.

When Manning goes to the NFL, which team will draft him?

All of this depends on how the 2025 NFL season goes. However, the New York Giants (+400) are the favorite to draft the Texas phenom. Arch’s uncle, Eli, won two Super Bowls for the Giants in 2007 and 2011.

The Denver Broncos (+500) have the second-best odds to take Manning. Arch’s other uncle, Peyton, won Super Bowl 50 as the quarterback for Denver.

The Carolina Panthers (+600), New Orleans Saints (+700), and Pittsburgh Steelers (+800) round out the top five.
