It was a season to forget in Chicago. Things were looking up for the Bears with a 4-2 start.
Then, Chicago lost on a Hail Mary to the Washington Commanders, derailing their entire season. The Bears went 1-10 to lose the season, finishing 5-12.
After a horrific finish to a Thanksgiving loss to the Lions, the Bears fired head coach Matt Eberflus the following day. Offensive coordinator Thomas Brown was promoted to interim head coach.
The primary job of the next head coach will be to further the development of quarterback Caleb Williams, who finished 28th in the NFL with a 46.8 QBR.

Per BetOnline, Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson (-125) is the favorite to become the next Bears head coach. Johnson is one of the hottest candidates on the market, thanks to his development of Jared Goff.
Former Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy (+200) is an interesting name to keep an eye on. The Cowboys and McCarthy parted ways on Monday. The Bears put in a request to interview McCarthy last week, which was denied by the Cowboys. Now, Chicago is free to speak with McCarthy later this week.
