Trey Hendrickson wants to remain with the Cincinnati Bengals. However, one of two things will happen this offseason. Either Hendrickson receives a new contract, or the team should trade him.

On Wednesday’s edition of The Pat McAfee Show, Hendrickson discussed his desire for a new contract.
Although Hendrickson is under contract through next season, the talented defensive end wants a contract extension and believes the offseason is a “good spot” to address these issues.
Hendrickson wishes to remain with the Bengals, but if they can’t agree on an extension, trading him for draft picks should be the next option.
“If it’s something we can agree on in terms, that would be great,” Hendrickson said regarding a new contract. “Ideally, my wife and I would love to stay in Cincinnati. If it’s something that helps the Bengals win the Super Bowl, if they get picks or anything like that, I want to help win a Super Bowl for Cincinnati, whether I’m there or not.”
Hendrickson stressed that the goal is to “win a Super Bowl for Cincinnati,” whether he’s on the team or not. Hendrickson does not want to be a distraction during the season and would prefer to handle these negotiations during the offseason.
Hendrickson, 30, is coming off his best season in the NFL. The eight-year pro recorded a league-high 17.5 sacks and garnered First-Team All-Pro recognition.
Since signing with the Bengals in 2021, Hendrickson has made four consecutive Pro Bowls.
Last month, Bengals Director of Player Personnel Duke Tobin acknowledged that the organization wants to reward Hendrickson with an extension. However, it does not mean the team and Hendrickson will agree to an extension.
Hendrickson told McAfee that he wished that he had heard the comments from the team instead of from his dad.

Hendrickson is set to make a salary of $15.8 million in 2025 with a cap hit of over $18.6 million.
Per Over The Cap, Hendrickson is 11th in average annual salary among edge rushers.
For a pass rusher in the prime of his career, Hendrickson certainly deserves to be compensated as such.
