Global phenomenon Beyonce has confirmed that she will headline Netflix’s Christmas Day NFL game between the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens.

Beyonce Set For Halftime Performance At NFL Christmas Day Game

Beyonce has confirmed that she will perform live during halftime of the NFL Christmas Day game between the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens.

The 43-year-old is set to perform during the half-time interval at the NRG Stadium, along with special guests who featured on her ‘Cowboy Carter’ album.

Beyonce’s album, a country album launched earlier this year, set new records this week after receiving 11 Grammy nominations, bring her overall total to 99 nominations. This is the most of any performer in the history of the awards ceremony.

In a video posted on her Instagram, Beyonce was seen standing on top of a vehicle covered in red roses, before catching a football. It has since been confirmed by multiple sources that Beyonce will perform during the halftime interval of the Texans vs Ravens game.

The performance is expected to rival those seen during the Super Bowl halftime show, with Netflix labelling the Christmas Day event ‘Cowboy Carter Christmas’. This is evidently a reference to Beyonce’s most recent album.

Beyonce Performance Set For Around 6PM ET

Netflix is hosting two games on Christmas Day as part of their new three-year deal with the NFL. The first sees the Pittsburgh Steelers lock horns with reigning Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs.

The second is of course the Texans vs Ravens contest, which is due to kick off at 4:30pm ET. This means that Beyonce’s halftime performance will be around 6pm.

The global music star has sold more than 200 million records worldwide throughout her career, and is one of the most recognisable figures across the globe. This won’t be the first time Beyonce has performed at a major NFL event either.

She headlined Super Bowl XLVII back in 2013 alongside her fellow Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. She also performed at Super Bowl XV alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars. Not to mention her singing of the national anthem 20 years ago at Super Bowl XXXVIII.

Netflix’s chief content officer said this on Beyonce’s live Christmas Day performance at the NFL game:

“Last year, we decided to take a big bet on live – tapping into massive fandoms across comedy, reality TV, sports and more.

“There are no live annual events, sports or otherwise, that compare with the audiences NFL football attracts. We’re so excited that the NFL’s Christmas Day games will be only on Netflix.”
