Bill Belichick wants to be a head coach again. However, it may not be in the NFL. According to Inside Carolina, Belichick has interviewed for the vacant head coaching position at the University of North Carolina.

Source confirms @InsideCarolina report that Bill Belichick interviewed for UNC’s head coaching vacancy.

The former Patriots head coach has been out of football for almost a year. However, the 72-year-old wants to be a head coach again.
Andrew Carter reported that Belichick “blew them away” in the interview process. Despite Belichick’s interest in the job, it’s unlikely North Carolina hires Belichick “due to his age and lack of college experience.”
North Carolina fired head coach Mack Brown after six seasons. Brown is one year older than Belichick, so the university will likely want to hire a younger candidate as their next head coach.

During his time away from coaching, Belichick has emerged as a media superstar, making regular appearances on The ManningCast, The Pat McAfee Show, and Inside the NFL.
Belichick also hosts a football show with the Underdog media network.
Belichick is an eight-time Super Bowl-winning coach—six as the head coach of the New England Patriots and two as the defensive coordinator of the New York Giants.
One of the reasons why Belichick wants to coach in the NFL is to break the all-time career wins record. Don Shula is first with 347 wins, followed by Belichick at 333.
So far, the New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, and Chicago Bears have fired their head coaches. At the end of the season, expect several more teams to fire their head coaches.
