WWE SummerSlam was a two-night event this year. It took place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Saturday, August 2, and Sunday, August 3.
The event was jam-packed with six matches each night.
Surprises occurred at the end of each night that swerved fans.
One of those surprises was the beast, Brock Lesnar, returning on night two of SummerSlam.
Brock Lesnar Returns At WWE SummerSlam
WWE SummerSlam ended with Cody Rhodes defeating John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
However, as the fans were giving Cena praise and applauding him after the match, all of a sudden, Brock Lesnar’s music hit. The beast returned to WWE and gave Cena his finishing move, the F5. Here is the video of Lesnar returning.

It is clear that before Cena retires at the end of the year, he will have one more showdown with the beast, Brock Lesnar.
Seth Rollins Cashed In Money In The Bank Briefcase
While Cody defeating Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship and Lesnar’s return were the highlights of night two, Seth Rollins was the highlight of night one.
The biggest thing that happened on night one was that Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase after CM Punk defeated Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. Rollins faked a knee injury at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. This led to Rollins cashing in and defeating Punk for the World Heavyweight title. Here is the video.

This was done perfectly by the WWE. Becky Lynch, Rollins’ wife, was even in on it, posting videos on social media of Rollins using crutches.

What Else Happened At WWE SummerSlam?
Returns of both Lesnar and Rollins highlighted the two main events for each night. Several other things took place at the PLE.
- Roman Reigns & Jey Uso defeated Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed
- Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair defeated Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez to become the new Women’s Tag Team Champions
- Sami Zayn defeated Karrion Kross
- Tiffany Stratton retained her WWE Women’s Title by defeating Jade Cargill
- Drew McIntyre & Logan Paul defeated Randy Orton & Jelly Roll
- Naomi retained her WWE Women’s Title in a triple-threat match, defeating Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky
- The Wyatt Sicks retained their WWE Tag Titles in a Tables, Ladders, & Chairs match against five other teams
- Becky Lynch retained her Intercontinental title by defeating Lyra Valkyria
- Solo Sikoa retained his United States Championship by defeating Jacob Fatu in a steel cage match
- Dominik Mysterio retained his Intercontinental Championship by defeating AJ Styles
Only two title changes took place at SummerSlam. Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair became new Women’s Tag Team Champions, and Cody Rhodes defeated John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Some thought Jade Cargill would dethrone Tiffany Stratton, but WWE decided to keep the title on Stratton.
The Tables, Ladders, & Chairs match was very exciting. Many big bumps took place during the match. Here is a video of some of the biggest bumps during the match.
