On Tuesday’s edition of Get Up, ESPN’s Peter Schrager reported that the Browns and Giants have received inquiries from other teams about trading up for their respective first-round picks.
The Browns have the No. 2 pick, and the Giants have the No. 3 pick.
“There have been phone calls made to both the Browns at two and the Giants at three with the intention to move up,” Schrager said. “There are teams who are looking to get up in this draft to either the two or the three spot.”
Schrager assumes that teams want to move up for one of three players: Penn State edge Abdul Carter, Colorado wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, or Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty.
The consensus top three in this year’s draft are Cam Ward to the Titans, Hunter to the Browns, and Carter to the Giants. However, Schrager believes Cleveland is the team that could shake up the first round with a trade.
“I think the two spot gets very interesting if the Browns are listening to a ‘godfather dead,'” Schrager explained.
The trade market involving first-round picks has been nonexistent this year. Per ESPN Research, this is the closest to the start of a draft without any trades involving first-round picks in the common draft era (since 1967).

Here’s the 2025 NFL Draft order for the first ten picks of Round 1.
- Tennessee Titans
- Cleveland Browns
- New York Giants
- New England Patriots
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Las Vegas Raiders
- New York Jets
- Carolina Panthers
- New Orleans Saints
- Chicago Bears
Most mocks have Hunter to the Browns, Carter to the Giants, and Jeanty to the Raiders.
There have been some rumors that the Jaguars at No. 5 might be interested in Jeanty.
The biggest domino in this draft is still Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders. Sanders has remained the No. 2 quarterback in most projections this draft cycle.
However, Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart to be the second quarterback drafted has gained some steam. Still, where Sanders gets drafted remains the biggest storyline heading into Thursday night.
