Raise the Flags chronicles the rich history of the Buccaneers, starting in 1974, when Tampa joined the NFL as the league’s 27th franchise.

1976 was the Bucs’ first NFL season. During that year, the Bucs went 0-14, becoming the first team in NFL history to not win or tie during a 14-game season. That streak carried into the next year, and at one point, the Bucs were 0-26.

In 1979, the Bucs turned things around and made the NFC Championship, ultimately losing 9-0 to the Rams.

After letting quarterbacks like Doug Williams and Steve Young out the door, the Bucs spent the next decade at the bottom of the NFC.

1995 was the season that changed everything. It’s the year the Bucs drafted Derrick Brooks and Warren Sapp, two future Hall of Famers.

That draft culminated in 2002, when the Bucs won the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history.

Other memorable moments covered in Raise the Flags include the team’s sale to the Glazer Family; the firing of Tony Dungy for Jon Gruden; the drafting of Bucs legends like John Lynch and Mike Evans; and the signing of Tom Brady, who guided the team to its second Super Bowl victory during the 2020 season.

The documentary features over 100 interviews with iconic players and coaches from the Bucs’ 50-year history, including Brooks, Richard Wood, Williams, Jimmie Giles, Young, Evans, Baker Mayfield, Dungy, Chris Simms, Todd Bowles, Mike Alstott, Barber, Gruden, Sapp, Trent Dilfer, John Lynch, Keyshawn Johnson, Jameis Winston, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Bruce Arians, Jason Licht, Brady, and Rob Gronkowski.

“Raise The Flags is a celebration of the people, the perseverance, and the passion that built this franchise over the past 50 seasons,” said co-owner Ed Glazer. “We wanted to create an honest and comprehensive look at our journey – from the earliest challenges to the unforgettable championship moments – and to honor everyone who has shaped the Buccaneers franchise into what it is today. This series celebrates that rich history in a way that has never been done before.”
