This past Sunday, the Bucks lost 127-82 to the Brooklyn Nets. Milwaukee is 11-16 in 2025-26. The team is without the services of two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.
He suffered a calf injury in early December. Antetokounmpo is set to miss four weeks for Milwaukee. On top of Giannis being out due to injury, he’s reportedly mulling his future with the team. Since the offseason, the 31-year-old has questioned if Milwaukee is building a contender around him. In hopes of convincing Giannis to stay, the Bucks have “expressed interest” in Miami’s Andrew Wiggins.

Over the summer, the Lakers and Heat were in trade talks. Los Angeles wanted to acquire Andrew Wiggins from Miami. However, the two sides were unable to reach a deal. According to Jovan Buha, Heat team President Pat Riley had a demand that the Lakers were unwilling to meet. That did not stop the Lakers’ interest in Andrew Wiggins. NBA insiders have reported that Los Angeles is still monitoring the one-time NBA champion.
The Lakers are not the only team with reported interest in Andrew Wiggins. Milwaukee is desperate to keep Giannis Antetokounmpo on the roster. They are attempting to make trades ahead of the deadline to make Giannis feel like the team has a chance to compete. According to insider Jake Fischer, the team has “expressed interest” in Andrew Wiggins.
Fischer: The Milwaukee Bucks have convinced teams around the NBA that they are going “big game hunting” in an attempt to keep Giannis Antetokounmpo satisfied. Milwaukee has previously shown interest in Zach LaVine, Jerami Grant, Andrew Wiggins and Dejounte Murray.

This is Wiggins’ 12th professional season and second with the Heat. He was traded to Miami at the 2024-25 deadline from the Warriors. That was part of a larger five-team deal that saw the Heat trade Jimmy Butler to the Warriors. Andrew Wiggins has started all 40 games he’s appeared in for the Heat.
He is on the books for $28 million in 2025-26 and has a $30 million player option in 2026-27. Milwaukee is attempting to make any move it can to impress Giannis Antetokounmpo. The team desperately wants to retain the All-NBA PF. However, the Bucks are at a crossroads. They are struggling without Giannis in the lineup. Would a trade for Andrew Wiggins be enough for the Bucks to keep Giannis Antetokounmpo? Only time will tell.
