Caitlin Clark Will Miss 2025 WNBA All-Star Game Due To Injury

The 2025 WNBA All-Star Game is set to be played this Saturday in Indianapolis, but the hometown superstar will be missing out on the festivities. It was announced on Thursday that Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark will not participate in any of the weekend’s events as she recovers from injury.

Caitlin Clark Out For 2025 WNBA All-Star Game

Clark has already missed plenty of action this season. She has played in just 13 of a possible 22 games thus far, hampered by a hamstring injury that she apparently re-aggravated in Tuesday’s contest against the Connecticut Sun.

She hasn’t been all that effective when she has been on the court, especially recently. Over the Fever’s last five games that she has been available for, she averaged just 11.2 points per game, and posted a three-point percentage of 18.8%. Her presence has been an overall positive, though, as Indiana is 4-1 in those contests.

Now, with the WNBA All-Star game set to take place in her backyard, Caitlin Clark will be watching from the sidelines. It is a tough blow to both the player and the city, as she was the top vote-getter for the event and was named as one of the two team captains. She will of course also be absent for the Three-Point Contest, putting something of a damper on the entire weekend as far as the city of Indianapolis is concerned.

In a message delivered to the fans on Thursday morning, Clark reiterated that she had to rest her body. “I’m incredibly sad and disappointed,” she stated. She would go on to say that she would still be present at Gainbridge Fieldhouse and would be helping coach her team.

The Indiana Fever will enter the All-Star break with a 12-11 record, good enough for 6th place in the WNBA standings. How they fare in the early going of the second half of the season will be important, as they are just 1.5 games away from dropping out of the playoff picture entirely.

It is unclear how long it will be before Clark returns to action. She will likely take time to make sure the ailment is completely healed, and the time off from the All-Star break will certainly be beneficial.
