One of the most talented wide receivers at the collegiate level is looking for a new school.
Per On3Sports, Coleman is entering the transfer portal. The decision comes a month after Auburn fired head coach Hugh Freeze. The Tigers later hired South Florida’s Alex Golesh as the program’s next head coach.
As of now, Coleman is widely seen as the top wide receiver in the transfer portal, which opens on Friday.
Coleman finished his sophomore year with 56 receptions, 708 yards, and five touchdowns. As a true freshman in 2024, Coleman caught 37 passes for 598 yards and eight touchdowns.
Coleman is six-foot-3 and 201 pounds, making him a high priority for the nation’s top teams.
Though Coleman has two more years of eligibility, many college football experts believe Coleman will play one more season before entering the NFL draft.

Alabama
The Iron Bowl might take on a different meaning for Coleman in 2026 if he attends Alabama.
The Crimson Tide is known for developing wide receiver talent dating back to Julio Jones. DeVonta Smith, Jerry Jeudy, Jaylen Waddle, Amari Cooper, Calvin Ridley, and Jameson Williams were all first-round picks from Alabama who have experienced success in the pros.
If Coleman attends Alabama, he will team with Ryan Williams, another top prospect in the 2027 NFL Draft.
Alabama’s offense could be even more lethal with Coleman in 2026.
Ohio State
Sometimes, the obvious answers are the right answers.
Ohio State has become a wide receiver factory. Since 2022, Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Emeka Egbuka have emerged as some of the league’s most talented receivers.
Carnell Tate will be the first receiver drafted in 2026, and Jeremiah Smith could join those ranks in 2027.
Heisman finalist Julian Sayin will return at quarterback for the Buckeyes next season. An offense featuring Sayin, Smith, and Coleman would give Ohio State a strong chance to make the College Football Playoff for the third consecutive season.
Texas A&M
Before attending Auburn, Coleman was originally committed to play for Texas A&M.
The key name at Texas A&M is Holmon Wiggins, the Aggies’ new offensive coordinator. Wiggins recruited Coleman to play for the Crimson Tide when he was the wide receivers coach at Alabama.
If the relationship is still there, perhaps Wiggins can seal the deal this time and land Coleman.
